Waterford-Leesburg
Quick Snapshot
Best for: Easy, scenic day with minimal planning
Area focus: Waterford + Leesburg
Ideal plan: Walk → brewery → stay awhile
Dog-friendliness: Very high
Walk
Phillips Farm Trail (Waterford)
Dogs: Allowed on leash
Terrain: Flat, easy trail
Vibe: Quiet, historic
A simple, low-effort walk with a lot of character. No steep sections or real incline, so it’s easy to do at your own pace.
Drinks
Vanish Farmwoods Brewery (Leesburg)
Dogs: Very dog-friendly
Food: Rotating food trucks
Bonus: Live music
Large outdoor space that’s clearly set up for dogs. When we were there, they had fresh oysters being shucked on-site, which made it feel more like a destination than just a stop.
The property overlooks Sugarloaf Mountain, so it’s an easy place to stay for a while rather than just passing through.
How to plan your day
Phillips Farm Trail → Vanish Brewery
Notes
This is one of the easier day trips to plan.
The walk is low-effort, and Vanish is set up in a way where you don’t need to think much once you get there.
